Frequently Asked Questions

I see a lot of investigation companies on line saying they have investigators in every state and most towns, what is that all about?

Normally these are entities that just have a well-ranked website and pay per click with Google Ad word. They have a list of phone numbers of subcontractors all around Australia and in most cases, they have never met their subcontract. The business address's they list in most state are normally a PO Box or a business centre where you can rent a room per hour as required.

It may take a bit more work, but in a lot of cases, you are better off looking for a locally based investigator and commission them directly. You may find it produces a better job and at a more competitive price.

With that said, there are several truly National firms that have great systems of work, great staff and great ethics. If you require a National Firm or have requirements in areas we do not service, I am happy to recommend some National firms, and I am confident whoever you choose will serve you well.

Most truly national firms mainly service commercial & insurance clients and rarely take on Matromnial type referrals.

I have never hired an Investigator before, what is the process?

1. In general terms, you should contact Executive Investigations and discuss what your objective is. We will discuss your situation and determine the best cost-effective way forward.

2. Once it is determined if we can help you the next step is getting the information from you. A good start is to simply email us office@executive-investigations.com.au, or telephone us on 02 62929289. Feel free to text or voice call us via the What's App. You can also message us on the messenger app pinned to the right of the screen above the What's App icon. Or visit our Contact Us page

3. Once a deposit has been paid we set a start date.

4. We start the investigation and keep you briefed as often as required. It's that simple.

Is there a minimal limit I can book an investigator for.

As far as billing goes it is billed in six-minute increments once the minimum has been reached.  A surveillance case normally has a 4 hour minimum per shift. Surveillance instructions limits can be set by you via a dollar limit or a number of hours assigned to the case or on completion of objective. We normally brief you after every shift. There are times when spot checks are required and they are not billed at the 4-hour minimum. Our office will explain everything. Contact us via our contact page, Get an estimate page or telephone 02 62929289 for more details regarding our fees, charges and to learn the best way to instruct or commission an investigation.

How much does it cost to hire an investigator?

it will depend on the type of investigation and the complexity of your case. In general, the hourly rate for work is between $88 and $110 per hour depending on geographic location and complexity.

Will the investigator get the evidence I need to make the case.

The investigator will record the facts. For e.g. a surveillance investigator will record his observations and expose footage of those observations when possible. There are no guarantees. We cannot control what others do or don’t do and we do not engage in illegal activity. We simply observe and record events. Often one’s suspicions are correct, but not 100% of the time. We need to acknowledge that surveillance can and does have losses with contact broken at a set of lights or in heavy traffic.

When an investigations starts, how will I know what is going on and how often do I get briefed?

You will be provided briefings as often as you require. Remember you can call the office between 8 am and 8 pm whenever you need and our investigator normally briefs the client after every sit.
